FREE Spay/Neuter Surgeries!

FREE ‘lightweight’ surgeries are now available at the main animal shelter at 6851 Van Buren Boulevard in Riverside!  ‘Lightweights’ are defined by the County to be dogs that weigh 20 pounds or less.  Only pet owners in Riverside County qualify for the free surgeries.  Pet owners can book up to two free surgeries.

 Thanks to grant funding by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), this targeted spay and neuter event is being held this Thursday, June 28th, and Friday, June 29th — plus an additional two dates in July.  All told, 100 ‘lightweight’ surgeries will be provided at no cost to pet owners.

 Pet owners should request an appointment by calling Stefanie Rubio at (951) 358-7545.  The appointments will be booked on a first-come-first-served basis.  Pet owners can also email Stefanie directly at SARubio@rivocha.org (please put “FREE LIGHTWEIGHT SURGERY” in the subject line and provide the best number to reach the pet owner).  You can help speed up the booking process by providing Stefanie with the following information: Name of pet owner, best phone number to each pet owner, dog’s age, dog’s breed, and dog’s sex.
