The City of Riverside is refining Draft 2 of the Design Guidelines for Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Development on Historic Properties.
This is your chance to:
- Listen to the latest updates.
- Share your opinions and help shape the guidelines.
- Ensure that future ADU projects align with the character of Riverside’s historic neighborhoods.
Why It Matters
State law allows homeowners to build ADUs in historic districts. However, properties designated as historic resources may face additional review by local historical committees. These guidelines, developed by the Riverside Cultural Heritage Board, aim to protect and enhance the unique character of our historic neighborhoods while accommodating new development.
